What is the process after an application is submitted?

  1. Our HR team reviews applications to identify qualified candidates. (Please note we cannot respond to every application.)
  2. Qualified candidates are invited to do a telephone screening.
  3. The most qualified candidates will be invited to an in-person or virtual interview. Common Sense typically conducts 2 to 3 rounds of interviews in the hiring process.
  4. References will be solicited from our final candidates. (Please note that some positions will require additional background checks.)
  5. A formal written job offer will be made to our top final candidate.

Common Sense is seeking a Director of Executive Events in the Office of the Founder and CEO. This role will lead executive-level events and appearances for the CEO, including flagship Common Sense events, designed to spark conversations, catalyze new ideas, and inform and inspire audiences. This individual will book and manage a high-profile roster of guest talent and oversee the programming and run of show of key events. They will also proactively pursue new opportunities to leverage the Founder and CEO to advance the organization's brand and mission through external engagements.

We are seeking an experienced, talented, and dynamic Business Development & Operations professional to support new business opportunities in the media and tech space to broaden our distribution footprint and generate sustainable revenue for the organization. The ideal candidate for this position will have strong knowledge of the media and tech space, and experience developing compelling proposals, modeling financials, managing pipeline, and structuring deals. Media Reviewer, Podcasts (Contractor)

The equity-focused podcast reviewer will use their subject-matter expertise to consume, evaluate, and write about entertainment content for parents through the lenses of child development, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). With excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, this contract role will produce anywhere from one to 10 new podcast reviews per month. We are seeking a highly motivated QA Engineer who can create and maintain automated tests for our flagship Common Sense Media website and API, as well as serve as a manual QA black-box tester for both our website and native apps. The Regional Development Officer, Los Angeles, will serve as the lead strategist, front-line fundraiser, and manager of major gift and event fundraising in Southern California. They will manage the Los Angeles Regional Advisory Council and oversee cultivation and fundraising activities across the region.
