Very deep, and quite violent

Would have expected a higher rating after having seen it, maybe a PG 12? Particularly due to violent scenes showing a young black soldier being kicked on the floor by military police (just for not being white) and a young girl running from a plane which drops a bomb. Some lovely messages about equality, friendship, and the teen years, but would think twice about taking a 3 and 5 year old. My 9 year old would have been fine if he had been with us but a more sensitive child of 9 that we went with found it too scary.

This title has:

Educational value
Great messages
Too much violence
