Amazing Navy fighter pilot movie; touches on the risks of being a fighter pilot. There weren't that many scary scenes. A Navy pilot goes into a daze and nearly crashes into the ocean. In a training accident, a major character is killed when their ejection malfunctions, which is sad. Otherwise, there is a lot of swearing, and missiles, and explosions, and a man flicks an enemy pilot off in mid-air. The worst thing was the scene where they made out, which I would recommend closing your eyes for.

Really good movie

When I first saw top gun, I instantly loved it. This movie is a classic and it’s performance by Tom cruise is absolutely amazing. While yes there is cursing, this movie came out in the 90’s when the rating of PG-13 was fairly new. The story is also very well written with very good acting. And while yes, some people are complaining about saying things like “oh my god” and “goddamn” it’s nothing that hasn’t been said before! Nonetheless this is a classic and recommend it for the whole family. There is positive role models, a good message, and a dang good time. With its runtime being about 120 minutes, it’s a jam packed and fun ride. It can also teach the audience about the planes that they are flying in this film, and also get a younger audience interested in the Air Force a bit.

Classic blockbuster is still great fun to this day

Top Gun (1986) John Vogel Lieutenant Pete "Maverick" Mitchell is an expert United States Naval Aviator. When he encounters a pair of MiGs over the Persian Gulf, his wingman is clearly outflown and freaks. On almost no fuel, Maverick is able to talk him back down to the carrier. When his wingman turns in his wings, Maverick is moved up in the standings and sent to the Top Gun Naval Flying School. There he fights the attitudes of the other pilots and an old story of his father's death in combat that killed others due to his father's error. Maverick struggles to be the best pilot, stepping on the toes of his other students.

Stellar 80s pilot movie, Swearing.

Top Gun is a 1986 Action adventure movie about Pete Mitchell/Maverick who is a ruthless and risk taking jet pilot who is sent to top gun (flying school) after their companion quits. It was one of the best movies I've ever seen in my life. For starters, the story was really fun and it was full of just the right amount of humor that was funny, and NEVER cringey. I am highly critical of acting, screenwriting, scene transitions, cinematography, special effects, music, and directing.
