Too much swearing, alcohol, drugs, sex for younger teens

The acting is good and the cast is beautiful. The storyline is somewhat predictable. I let my 14 1/2 year old watch this show, as she just finished reading the books. There is a lot of swearing, drugs, and alcohol throughout. This bothered me some but then there is a scene of sex in a car (no nudity, but still not good) that I was not expecting. My daughter said that was not in the book! The drugs and alcohol are somewhat glorified as the series goes on. There are better (cleaner) shows out there for younger teens.

Much more risqué than the books

This show is NOT appropriate for younger teen audiences! Tons of drinking, even drugs, and a very uncomfortable -- albiet quick -- sex scene with a MOM! The moms are not good role models in general, hooking up with guys after their divorces, doing edibles and getting high, etc. The acting also sucks, even if the boys are beautiful. The tracklist is pretty good though, even though some of the song choices are odd. Nothing like the books, which are much cleaner and more wholesome.
